About IBANs

The IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is an internationally agreed system of identifying bank accounts across national borders.

An IBAN consists of a country code (2 letters), check digits (2 digits), and a bank-specific account number (up to 30 characters).

Note: For bank details (name, BIC), the IBAN is sent to openiban.com.

About This IBAN Validator

  • Bank Information: Get the bank name, city, and address for valid IBANs
  • BIC/SWIFT Code: Retrieve the BIC code associated with the IBAN
  • Country Detection: Automatically detect the country from the IBAN

Use Cases:

  • Verify bank account details before making transfers
  • Validate customer-provided IBANs in forms
  • Look up bank information from an IBAN
  • Check IBAN format and checksum validity

⚠️ Note: This tool sends the IBAN to the Openiban API (openiban.com) for validation. Do not use with sensitive data if privacy is a concern.
